MARA hands more than 238 Arabic books to Brunei Darussalam

The textbooks had been handed more than to the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Brunei Darussalam by H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel al Maskari, Oman’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam. The ministry oversees Arab and religious schools in Brunei. The books had been handed more than at an official ceremony held by the ministry in an Arab college below its supervision in the presence of Dato Haj Abdul Aziz bin Orange Kaya Maharaja Laila Haj Mohammad Yousef, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Brunei Darussalam.

H E Sheikh Maskari stated that the step complements the initiatives adopted by the embassy to contribute to the dissemination of Arabic language amongst the individuals of Brunei. He added that these efforts have resulted in the establishment of two Omani publication corners, a single of which is at the library of the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University and the other at the University Brunei Darussalam.

The former has much more than 500 copies and the latter 700 publications on contributions of Omani scientists, thinkers and researchers. Dato Yousef also praised the main function played by the sultanate’s embassy in advertising communication in between the nations.

He affirmed that the textbooks will contribute efficiently in enriching the method of teaching and studying Arabic language in Brunei Darussalam.
