King’s University confers doctorate on V M A Hakkim

The award was presented to Hakkim by the university specialists at the Annual Conference of the Council held at National Harbour, Marriott Hotel in Maryland, US. The meet was attended by big quantity of delegates from different walks of life. Mayor of Maryland, Thomas Axley, and Dr Olga Sokolova, well-known Russian Architect, had been also present at the function.

For Hakkim, it is a dream come accurate. Interestingly, a Doctoral degree evaded him twice in the previous due to his commitment to construct up a productive profession as an entrepreneur.

Soon right after his Masters with a university initial rank, he had began his Doctoral analysis in Cochin University of Science and Technology, on a fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of India. But he had to discontinue as Kerala State Government provided him a District level position by direct recruitment.

He persisted in his ambition in his 40s to do analysis and get a PhD. He pursued it once again by registering for PhD in Applied Economics with the effectively-recognized JNU, New Delhi.

However, he had to temporarily abandon the analysis project and conclude with an MPhil Degree in favour of an employment supply from Gulf area.

His Gulf journey started from Saudi Arabia, then Dubai and lastly settled in Oman. Over the final 25 years, he went by means of a series of enterprise initiatives and a number of socio-financial neighborhood programmes. While performing so, he usually had his passion for creating his profession academically.

Currently, he is the chairman and managing director of Al Hakkim International, founder companion of KIMS Oman Hospital, founder director of Ideal Marine Products, apart from his initiatives in educational field.

In the social arena, his recognition in Oman contains vice chairman of the World Malayali Council, president of Muslim Educational Society, patron of TEAM (Trivandrum Expats Association in Muscat) and handful of other neighborhood organisations catering to social rewards.

Dr Hakkim mentioned, “My current initiative focused on establishing a charity trust referred to as ‘The Heritage Trust’ back in Kerala.

“My intention is to serve my native neighborhood as effectively in my humble way with what ever small understanding, exposure and encounter I have gained abroad in the course of practically 3 decades of my Gulf journey. Dr Hakkim believes that the present title, D Litt, will boost his credibility.
