An official from the Kazakhstan Embassy mentioned, “The goal is to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of movies and art and let audiences in Oman learn more about what Kazakhstan’s film industry has to offer.”

The two films screened at the occasion, incorporated Road to Mother and The Diamond Sword. The former is a 2016 Kazakh drama and was chosen as Kazakhstan’s entry as the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The latter is an action film that requires spot in the 15th century. The plot demonstrates the important events in the formation of Kazakh statehood below the leadership of Zhanibek Khan and Kerey Khan.

A film enthusiast, Ahmed Balushi, mentioned, “Kazakhstan has always fascinated me with its culture and natural landscape. “I am very happy and thrilled to see the country through celluloid. While the first film showcased the social structure of the country, the other film is an epic which shows the history and war of the country.”
