The Telugu Vibhag of Indian Social Club Salalah recently celebrated Ugadi. The evening started with a welcome speech by Radhika Harikumar, lady co-ordinator.

ISC Salalah, Telugu Vibhag marks Ugadi 2018 with enthusiasm

Manpreet Singh, chairman, ISC Salalah, was the chief guest. Singh and Aleem Khan, convenor, Telugu Vibhag, addressed the gathering. The speakers thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and prayed to the Almighty for his excellent well being and extended life.

The cultural events began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the conventional Panchanga Sravanam. Over 178 participants of numerous age groups enthralled the audience with their captivating performances primarily based on classical, semi-classical and cinematic medleys. Some of the noteworthy programmes incorporated a dances primarily based on Telugu saint-poet Annamacharya’s life. The Telugu Festivals presented by the lady members showcasing the essential festivals of the Telugu States won the acclaim of the viewers.

The highlight of the occasion was Children’s Fashion, and the Grand Finale was committed to the well-liked actress of Indian film market, Sridevi, who passed away lately.
