H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism received in his workplace on Monday Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Civil Aviation in India.
They explored implies of enhancing cooperation in tourism among the sultanate and India.
They also reviewed the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) in the sultanate to market the sector and create it according to a sustainable vision that focuses mostly on the top quality of items and service although sustaining the Omani identity.
The meeting incorporated a presentation on Oman’s tourism method which focuses on accountable and sustainable principles and opening investments in the sector. The method targets attracting 11mn domestic and foreign vacationers by 2040.
H E Mehrzi stated that the parties agreed to activate the memorandum of understanding which was signed among the two sides in February 2018 and develop upon what have been agreed in the course of the pay a visit to of the Indian Prime Minister this year.
MoT plans to organise awareness seminars on tourism in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. It will also organise B2B meetings among Omani and Indian businessmen in the tourism sector. The meeting was attended by the India’s Ambassador to the sultanate and a quantity of officials in MoT.
