Exactly two weeks after it suspended operations following floods that ravaged the state of Kerala in India, Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) resumed full-scale operations from 2pm on Wednesday.

Flights to Kochi in Kerala resume from Muscat

Oman Air will resume its flights from August 30, the national carrier stated. “Cochin International Airport will resume operations as of today, August 29, 2018. All Oman Air flights from/to CIAL will return to normal schedule as of August 30, 2018.”

An official with Air India stated that its every day flights have resumed. “Our flight departed on time at 11.20am on Wednesday. With all operations at the Kochi airport completely functional, we don’t foresee any problem now,” he stated.

India’s private carrier Jet Airways also resumed its flights from Wednesday.

A statement issued by the CIAL stated all airlines, each domestic and international, would adhere to the present schedule of operations. An intimation concerning the readiness of the airport had currently been offered to all airlines, it added.

CIAL sustained a loss of about R2.2bn as floods brought on harm to the runway and gear. The airport had suspended aircraft operations because August 15.
