The Diwan of Royal Court, which is overseeing the project, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday with Oman Technology Fund (OTF), below the auspices of H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

“The MoU aims at using the drone technology and artificial intelligence to serve the project of planting one million date palms,” OTF stated.

It added that below the agreement, two Omani organizations will supply information evaluation, imaging and aerial surveying solutions to detect and treat illnesses and early epidemic.

Earlier in July, the Diwan of Royal Court marked the establishment of Oman Dates Development Company, in cooperation with Oman National Investments Development Company (Tanmia). The business is the investment arm of the One Million Date Palm Trees Project, which was initiated below the Royal Order of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

The primary complicated of the business will be set up in Nizwa. The complicated will consist of central processing units, secondary goods-primarily based industries and revolutionary industries.
The UK-primarily based Systemic Innovation business has been appointed to conduct the feasibility study for the date palm tree goods and wastes in cooperation with the Industrial Innovation Centre.
