China and the Arab countries have agreed to establish strategic partnership of cooperation and common development.

China, Arab states to forge strategic ties

The agreement was produced at the 8th China-Arab States Cooperation Forum held in Beijing on Tuesday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the eighth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum on Tuesday morning at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi announced that China and Arab nations had agreed to establish a ‘future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development’.

On Monday, H E Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs held talks with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, vowing to market cooperation in different fields.

Wang Yi stated that Oman and China must continue supporting each and every other on problems involving their core interests and main issues, accelerate joint building of the Belt and Road, market industrial capacity cooperation, and deepen economic cooperation of different types.

H E Alawi mentioned that Oman extremely appreciates and actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and hopes to improve cooperation with China in finance, investment, and tourism, amongst other locations.

Oman had in May this year signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China on jointly advertising the building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, that with each other type One Belt, One Road initiative, a Chinese government financial improvement framework for integrating trade and investment in Eurasia.
