The initial stage of the project consists of a 25,000sq m facility to shop 60,000 tonnes of bulk grains. It consists of gear that can deal with 15,000 MT of cereals per day, in addition to supplying worth added solutions, such as top quality manage and packaging.
The second stage, which is below preparing, targets growing the facility to 500,000 MT.
Andrew Dawes, CEO of Port of Salalah stated the project will make the port a hub for agricultural goods in the future.
The regional manager of Algeposa stated that about US$5mn will be invested in the project, the greatest for the business outdoors Europe.
He stressed the value of the strategic place of Salalah port which is close to the crucial consumption centres in the MENA area. Salalah port management aims to develop new enterprise possibilities that will contribute in the development of shipping and logistics solutions.
