There has been a 33.3 per cent drop in accident rate across the sultanate until the end of March this year compared to the same period in 2017. The number of accidents declined to 597 between January and March this year compared to 895 in the same period last year according to figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The statistics showed that 59 per cent of the road accidents registered in March occurred at evening. The quantity of fatalities in road site visitors accidents stood at 155 of which 94 have been Omanis (85 males) and 61 expatriates (55 males).

In addition, 684 folks have been injured (466 Omanis and 218 expats). There has been a a single per cent decline in the quantity of injuries in the course of the exact same period, from 691 to 684.
